Ways to Give

+ Stocks and other marketable securities

Now is a great time to give stocks and other marketable securities. Giving stocks is a great way not only to maximize your charitable giving through an investment you've made but also to do so in a tax-efficient manner as you avoid the capital gains tax on the investment while receiving a full charitable deduction! Please contact Ruth at 775.424.5683 or rfaigin@summitnv.org.

+ In Person

Use the envelopes and generosity boxes that are located near the exits on each campus or the Giving Kiosk on the Sparks Campus.

+ Give by Mail

If you prefere to send your donation bymail or by direct payment from your bank, pelase make checks payable to Summit Church and send to: Summit Church 7075 Pyramid Way Sparks NV 89436

+ Are there any hidden fees or charges to give online?

You will not pay any fees. The dollar amount that you select to give will be recorded on your contribution statement. However, the church does incur fees for processing. The most cost effective way to maximize your giving is to give online from your bank account. To give this way, simply choose the bank account option (instead of credit or debit card) as your payment method. You also have the option to cover a portion of the fees that Summit is charged.

+ What is the deadline for annual contributions?

Make sure all checks are post-marked by December 31 and that they are mailed to the church office at Summit, 7075 Pyramid Way, Sparks NV 89436. You are also welcome to hand-deliver a check gift, either in person at church on Sunday through our generosity boxes or during office hours during the week, Monday-Thursday 9am-4:30pm. We will have limited office hours December 24—December 31.

+ Over 70½? Consider a Qualified Charitable Distribution

Are you 70 ½ or older? If so, a QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to the charitable organization of your choice. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. In addition to the benefits of giving charitably, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare. Also, QCDs don’t require that you itemize, which due to the recent tax law changes, means you may decide to take advantage of the higher standard deduction but still use a QCD for charitable giving. If you want to visit more about making a gift through a QCD, please contact Ruth at 775.424.5683 or rfaigin@summitnv.org or speak with your financial advisor.

Why do we give?

smallgroups-02.jpg

People are most important.

We say it every week. Our doors are wide open to people wherever they are on their spiritual journey. That includes whether they give financially or not.

Giving is about gratitude.

Giving acknowledges that everything we have is provided by God, so we give gratefully, and not out of compulsion or guilt. And we give so others can experience the same love, grace, forgiveness, and healing that we have received.

It’s what we give out, not what we bring in.

Those who generously give through Summit know that it is to reach those 300,000 people in the Truckee Meadows with the love of Jesus. Their generosity also helps to support both local and global outreach efforts. Learn more about our local and global partners.
